Spring Robots Classes Start March 11

This spring, Ms. Vogel will be offering two robotics classes on Mondays: Lego EV3 and Exploring Robotics mBot/MakerBot and Edison. Lego EV3 requires prior EV3 experience. Exploring Robotics is for students who are new to robotics.

Class Details:

Lego EV3

Mondays, 3:15-4:30 in room 216.
4 sessions: April 22, 29; May 6, 20.
Some lunchtime sessions, dates TBD.

  • This class is for students with prior EV3 building experience. Students build on prior knowledge, learning more complex robot design, construction and programming. They will tinker with mechanical structure, motors, gears, power, sensors and much more, while learning engineering and math concepts such as mechanics, physics, design, and environmental science.

Exploring Robotics mBot/MakerBot and Edison

Mondays, 3:15-4:30 in room 216.
5 sessions: March 11, 18, 25; April 8, 22.

  • This class is for students who have very little to no experience with robotics or programming. We learn Scratch style programming. These robots involve more programming than building.

Class sizes are limited, so if you are interested, turn in your application right away! Application deadline: Friday, March 8, 2019. Click here for the application.

Classes are free, but a voluntary donation of $50-200 per student is politely requested.

Classes Are Free But We Could Use Your Help

Classes are free, but donations are appreciated!

Students may take Lego EV3 and Exploring Robotics mBot/MakerBot and Edison for free. However, a suggested donation amount of $50-$200, or any amount, would be greatly appreciated and help to continue and develop the Robotics and Technology programs at Palms.

To donate:

  1. Write a check payable to Palms Middle School.
  2. Put the check in a sealed envelope.
  3. Put the envelope in Ms. Vogel's mailbox in the Main Office.

Thank you for your support!
