We encourage parents to take advantage of the opportunities they have at Palms and the events to which they are invited. Among them:

GATE Parent Conferences

The LAUSD Gifted and Talented Education (GATE) program creates high end learning opportunities which allow students to flourish in stimulating academic and social environments.

Jack Kent Cooke Foundation Scholarships

Jack Kent Cooke Foundation

The Young Scholars Program of the Jack Kent Cooke Foundation is designed to nurture exceptional students who have demonstrated, through academic excellence and extracurricular activities, that they have the potential to excel.

Students apply for the program in 7th grade, enter the program in 8th grade, and continue through high school.

The schedule is as follows:

  • February: A link to the online application is posted on the Jack Kent Cooke Foundation website.
  • April: The application period closes.
  • April through August: Application reviews are conducted.
  • September: New Young Scholars are selected in their 8th grade year.
