Camp Palms
Camp Palms is a middle school orientation for incoming 6th grade students, who will have the opportunity to become familiar with the campus, meet some of the teachers, rotate through classes, and make new friends.
Camp Palms is a 2-day program in August, before school starts in the Fall. See the schedule below.
Invitation letters are usually mailed by the end of May. Sixth grade students wishing to participate in Camp Palms should sign up in advance for this event.Camp Palms starts in the School Auditorium on Woodbine Street (see campus map). Over two days, students attend 8 sessions (4 each day), learning everything from study skills to math games to using a P.E. locker. Students learn their way around campus in a fun scavenger hunt.

Don't worry if your child cannot attend Camp Palms. New students are made to feel welcome on the first day of school and beyond. People will be standing by to answer questions and help with maps and directions for any student who seems a little uncertain. We want all of our students to feel comfortable and confident as soon as possible!
Palms uses a parent check-in process in mid-August, prior to the first day of school. The parent check-in enables families to complete and submit required paperwork such as emergency contact information before school starts, find out the student's class schedule, pick up textbooks, sign up for the Parent Portal, and purchase PE clothes and other items at the Student Store. It's a great way to get a jump on the school year rather than having to do all of these things the first week of school.
Families of new and returning students are sent a letter in mid-June listing the dates and times for each grade's parent check-in session. Please plan to attend the parent check-in for your grade level, and get an organized start to the school year.
