Eighth Grade Eligibility

If parents or students have questions about the eligibility requirements, they should talk to the student's counselor well before an upcoming activity. Don't wait -- know your eligibility.

Eligibility rules
Category Eligibility for 8th Grade Activities Eligibility for Culmination
Academics A grade of F makes a student automatically ineligible. No more than two U's.
Cooperation No more than two U's. No more than two U's.
Work Habits No more than two U's. N more than two U's.
Behavior Adherence to the Code of Conduct. Adherence to the Code of Conduct.
Misconduct If a student is suspended or sent to the Dean's Office for misconduct before any eighth grade activity, the student may become ineligible as determined by administration or the Eighth Grade Coordinator. If a student is suspended or sent to the Dean's Office for misconduct before culmination or during culmination rehearsals, the student may become ineligible as determined by administration and the Eighth Grade Coordinator.
Books, fees, iPad The student must not have any outstanding books with the Library or outstanding fees with the Cafeteria. All necessary 8th grade paperwork or tear-offs must be handed in. Unexcused absences must be cleared in Student Services. To participate in culmination rehearsals and the culmination ceremony, the student must have paid all Library and Cafeteria fees, cleared their textbooks, turned in their iPad, and have turned in necessary paperwork such as "Parent Update" tear-offs. Unexcused absences must be cleared in Student Services.
