The film is about LAUSD's musical instrument repair shop. LAUSD is the only remaining large public school system that provides free instruments to young musicians. Fimmakers Ben Proudfoot and Kris Bowers were privately funded professionals who worked with LAUSD, Breakwater Studios, and Searchlight Pictures.
When the film first screened, Palms students took a field trip Westchester High School to see it.
