    Attend one of our Visitors' Days! We will have new dates beginning in Fall 2019.

    Palms Ballet Folklorico, Son de la Palma would like to invite you to their invitational performance with UCLA's Ballet Folklorico on Sunday, May 26, at UCLA's Royce Hall. Doors open at 5:30 pm.

    Our students will be performing a beautiful dance from the Mexican state of Chiapas, done in ballet style. Please see the invitation and the beautiful dress the girls will be wearing.

    Middle Years NewsletterThe following Middle Years Newsletters issues are available for download:

    • March: Tips on treating people with respect, success on standardized tests, social media, making mornings enjoyable, wordplay, Spring science, family poetry, medication overuse, and what to do if your child forgets to take something to school.
    • April: Tips on reading, conflict resolution, expressing appreciation, designing a logo, mental health education, genealogy and heritage, year-end planning, acne, and sixty-second challenges.
    • May: Tips on continued learning after school is out, peer pressure, sibling bonds, summer routines, student 'zines, computer coding, preparing for exams, self-esteem, and making a first aid kit.

    SBAC testing will take place from Monday, May 13, through Thursday, May 16. Make-up testing will be given on Friday, May 17, and Monday, May 20. Students, get a good night's sleep and eat a healthy breakfast before heading to school!

    Parents of current 5th, 6th, and 8th grade students: please attend one of several information sessions to learn about pathways that enable your child to take advanced placement (AP) math classes in high school. Dates, times, and locations are noted on this flyer.

    Middle Years newsletterThe following Middle Years Newsletters issues are available for download:

    • December: Tips on responsibility, brainstorming, making writing fun, co-parenting, avoiding gossip, encouraging creativity, keeping up with school news, mealtime manners, and turning in homework on time.
    • January: Tips on everyday math, assertiveness, protecting privacy online, family meals, ADHD, motivation, patience, paying attention in class, and safe use of earbuds.
    • February: Tips on research skills, mindfulness, bullying, chatting, foreign languages, studying engineering, make-up work, finding similarity among objects, and follow-through after mistakes.

    Palms PE teacher Ms. Millet will be teaching a one-time spin class for Palms families on Saturday, May 4, at 9 am. This will be an introductory-level class, and it's a great way to set an example for our kids that we all need exercise! There is space for 32 riders, so make sure to sign up today. The class costs $10 per rider.

    (Be sure to enter the school from the Palms side. The main school entrance will be closed.)
