Monitoring Student Progress via Google Classroom

As we wrap up week six of Distance Learning, we want to reach out and touch base with you about Google Classroom and your child’s grades.  We are currently working on the 15 week progress report card, and within about a month, we will prepare for the final grades. With this in mind, here are some tips on how you can check on your child’s progress.  As you may know, all assignments are posted in our Google Classrooms under “Classwork”.  You can to see what the assignments are and if your child has turned them in. Their grades will appear under the “View your Work” which is on the top left side of the screen.  Please keep in mind that we do have more than 90 students and therefore, be patient with the grading.

Thank you.

TIPS...

You can check the site for updates and homework.

Here are some tips to help you succeed:

1) Be prepared with school supplies

2) Check your binder every night so you don't leave anything behind

3) Complete all work properly. In math, COPY THE PROBLEM, SHOW YOUR WORK AND CIRCLE THE ANSWER. For both math and science, WRITE COMPLETE SENTENCES AND CHECK YOUR SPELLING AND GRAMMAR.

4) Always copy the assignments in the planner WORD FOR WORD and refer to it at home to complete your work. If you forget/don't receive/loose a handout or forget to copy the assignment, go home, look at your notes and either use the book or go on line and solve at least 15 problems with the related topic.

5) Keep track of your deadlines.

6) Ask for help & use your resources (notebooks, textbooks, homework help, etc.) For math, visit "Khan Academy" at www.khanacademy.org for free practice problems and videos to review lessons.

7) Visit the Calendar section to check daily homework.
